Hey folks, it’s Tucker here.
I wanted to share a little something with you about my new song, "Don't Get America Wrong." This song means a lot to me, and it’s got a story behind it that hits close to home—not just for me, but for my good friend MJ who wrote it.
MJ’s always been real close with his siblings. They grew up tight, sharing everything from secrets to holidays, and they always had each other’s backs. But over the last few years, things started to change. The political climate we’re living in these days has driven a wedge between them, and it’s been hard to watch. What used to be easy conversations turned into heated debates, and soon enough, those debates turned into silence. MJ found himself feeling more and more distant from the people he thought he’d always be close to.
It hurt him deeply to see his family torn apart like that. He missed the days when they could just be together without everything turning into a battle over who was right or wrong. That’s when MJ sat down and wrote "Don't Get America Wrong." He poured all his pain and frustration into that song, hoping to reach out and remind his siblings—and anyone else going through the same thing—that despite our differences, we don’t have to let them destroy what we have.
When MJ shared the song with me, it struck a chord. I’ve felt that same pain in my own life. I’ve seen how these divisions can creep in and pull apart the people we care about most. Listening to the song, it was like MJ had put words to the feelings I’ve been struggling with too. It was more than just a song—it was a message that needed to be heard.
I knew right then that I had to be the one to sing it. Not just because it resonated with me, but because I believe it speaks to so many of us. "Don't Get America Wrong" isn’t just about politics—it’s about family, love, and the ties that bind us. It’s a reminder that we don’t have to agree on everything to still care for each other.
As you listen to the song, I hope it reminds you, like it did for me and MJ, that what matters most is the love we share and the memories we’ve built. We can disagree and still hold onto those bonds. We can see things differently and still come together, because at the end of the day, we’re all in this together.
Thanks for letting me share this with you, and for taking the time to listen—not just to the song, but to the message behind it. Let’s keep trying to understand each other, and let’s not get America—or each other—wrong.
If this song resonates with you, I’d love for you to share it with the people in your life—especially those you might be feeling a little distant from. Let’s use this song as a way to start the conversations that bring us closer together, not push us further apart. And if you haven’t yet, head over to my website to grab a copy of the track or check out some of the merch. Your support means the world to me, and together, we can keep this message going strong.
Take care, and keep the faith.
