Hey y’all, it’s Tucker Gentry here. I’ve been thinking a lot about the kind of music that really tugs at the heartstrings of this great nation of ours. You know, the kind that makes you proud to be where you’re from, and grateful for all the folks who’ve given so much so we can enjoy the freedoms we hold dear. One artist who’s been doing that for years is Lee Greenwood. His song "God Bless the USA" has been a staple in homes, parades, and gatherings all across this land, reminding us what it means to be truly American.

Now, I’m not here to compare my music to the legendary Lee Greenwood—that’d be like comparing a sapling to an old oak tree—but I do want to share why making patriotic music is so near and dear to my heart. When I was writing my debut song, "Don’t Get America Wrong," I thought a lot about how songs like "God Bless the USA" do more than just get stuck in your head; they get lodged right in your soul. They remind us of the shared values that bring us together, no matter what corner of the country you’re from.

Lee Greenwood knew what he was doing when he put pen to paper for "God Bless the USA." He wasn’t just writing a song; he was giving folks something to rally around, something that spoke to the pride we feel in our country. And that’s what patriotic music is all about—it’s a way to bring people together, to remind us all that we’re part of something bigger than ourselves.

I’ve always admired artists who can capture that spirit of unity in their songs. It takes a special kind of heart to write music that makes folks stand a little taller and smile a little brighter when they hear it. That’s what I aimed to do with "Don’t Get America Wrong," and it’s why I look up to folks like Lee Greenwood. His music, especially "God Bless the USA," does just that—it brings us together, and it makes us proud of where we come from.

There’s something real special about a song that can make you feel connected to your neighbors, whether they live right down the road or a thousand miles away. Patriotism, to me, is about more than waving a flag; it’s about loving your country and the people in it. It’s about understanding that, despite our differences, we all want what’s best for this land we call home. And that’s exactly what artists like Lee Greenwood remind us of with their music.

Sharing "Don’t Get America Wrong" with y’all, fills me with a sense of pride—not just for the song itself, but for being part of a tradition of music that helps bring people together. Lee Greenwood set the bar high with "God Bless the USA," and I can only hope that my music will touch folks in even a fraction of the way his has.

So here’s to the singers and songwriters out there who keep the spirit of America alive in their music. Here’s to Lee Greenwood and his timeless anthem "God Bless the USA." And here’s to all of us, coming together through the power of song, to celebrate the things that make this country great. God bless y’all, and God bless the USA!

Thanks for reading.
